I visited the Saint Laurent store yesterday to look at the medium Envelope bags. I had such a difficult time trying to decide between Black & the Dark Smog grey colour. I am trying to grow my luxury collection. But i am thinking about getting a Speedy 30 in DE and the YSL Envelope bag in medium (black calfskin). I have the small Loulou in the exact color and the medium Envelope in black with gold hardware. I prefer the Loulou over the Envelope because it’s not as structured and holds more. Would love it even more if they removed the center zip pocket though.

I'm in love with this bag and seeing as I don't see myself buying a chanel classic flap anytime soon unless I inherited a fortune from a long lost relative I thought it might be a more modern, nicely flashy but still classic alternative. This bag has striking YSL initials prominently displayed on the front and center of the design. I opted for the gold-toned metal hardware, but silver and black matte enamel is also available on the Envelope style.
Envelope can be dressed up or down, sunset is really refined and polished, and loulou is casual (which is fine if you want an everyday bag). I think envelope is the most versatile one.
