Went to the Panerai website and chatted online with them regarding this.Panerai wanted to mount a large dome 3 mm thick Plexiglass crystal into the PAM 372. Between owners and fans, this was a point of contention. Detractors contend that stains are caused so quickly by a Plexiglass crystal and have no room on a luxury watch. So, they would choose the sapphire option. I am considering a PAM 372 with plexiglass. It comes with a spare glass and is in unworn condition (for 5k). Is the plexiglass problematic and/or expensive. Should I steer clear and look for an alternative model - although I love the colour combination of the 372. With regards to Plexiglass against sapphire crystals, there are pros and cons.
